1. Introduction
This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which Adu Dlamini Business & Engineering Academy will process refunds for course fees. We encourage all prospective students to carefully review this policy before enrolling.
2. Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees are non-refundable under all circumstances:
- Application/Registration fees
- Administrative processing fees
- Material fees for resources already provided
- Examination fees once submitted to accreditation bodies
- Late payment penalties
3. Refund Eligibility Timeline
3.1 Before Course Commencement:
- More than 30 days before start: 90% refund of tuition fees (excluding registration fee)
- 15-30 days before start: 70% refund of tuition fees
- 7-14 days before start: 50% refund of tuition fees
- Less than 7 days before start: 25% refund of tuition fees
3.2 After Course Commencement:
- Within first week: 50% refund of remaining tuition
- After first week: No refund available
4. Academy-Initiated Course Cancellations
If the Academy cancels a course due to insufficient enrollment or other operational reasons:
- Students will receive a full refund (100%) of all fees paid, including registration fees
- Alternatively, students may transfer to another available course without additional fees
- Notification will be provided at least 7 days before the scheduled course start date
5. Withdrawal Process
To request a refund, students must:
- Submit a written withdrawal request to info@adudlaminiacademy.co.za
- Include: Full name, student number, course name, and reason for withdrawal
- Complete the official Withdrawal Form (available from admin office)
- Return any course materials or equipment issued
Withdrawal is effective from the date the Academy receives the written notification.
6. Special Circumstances
6.1 Medical Reasons: Students who withdraw due to serious medical conditions (supported by medical documentation) may be eligible for:
- Deferred enrollment to the next intake
- Pro-rata refund based on time attended
6.2 Death or Severe Illness: In cases of student death or severe illness preventing completion:
- Pro-rata refund will be issued to the estate or family
- Documentation from medical practitioners or death certificate required
6.3 Force Majeure: In cases of circumstances beyond the Academy's control (natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest):
- The Academy will work with students to provide alternatives (online learning, rescheduling)
- Refund terms will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
7. Disciplinary Dismissal
Students dismissed for disciplinary reasons are not eligible for any refund of tuition or fees paid.
8. Course Changes by Student
Students wishing to change to a different course:
- Must apply before the course commencement
- If the new course has higher fees, the difference must be paid
- If the new course has lower fees, no refund of the difference
- Administrative fee may apply for course changes
9. Payment Plans and Refunds
For students on payment plans:
- Refunds apply only to amounts already paid
- Outstanding balances must be settled before refunds are processed
- Payment plan contracts may include specific refund terms
10. Processing Time
Approved refunds will be processed within:
- 30 business days from the date of approval
- Refunds will be made to the original payment method or bank account
- Students will receive written confirmation once the refund is processed
11. Failed Courses and Repeats
Students who fail a course and wish to repeat:
- Must pay the full course fee again
- No refund for previously paid fees
- Possible discount for repeat students (at Academy discretion)
12. Complaints and Appeals
Students who wish to appeal a refund decision may:
- Submit a written appeal to the Academy Director within 14 days
- Provide supporting documentation
- Receive a response within 21 business days
